Gary is a British freediver, one of my very first students, and now, with 15 years of freediving under his belt, one of the top male athletes in the world (112m CWT.... and going deeper!)
He hates talking about himself, so this is a rare opportunity to join Gary and me for an informal chat about his incredible journey, from a beginner feeling fear on 12m dives, to now, 100m deeper, mastering his fears to experience nothing but pure pleasure.
If you've seen Gary dive you know he makes it look effortless and easy, and indeed, nowadays that is how his dives really are. But the journey to get there has been anything but effortless and easy.
Join me as I invite Gary to reflect on the inner demons he has faced along the way, and how he has overcome them. What techniques he has developed to help him overcome fear, self-doubt, real-life challenges, and the pressure of depth and expectation. And how he motivates himself to keep going, against the odds.
We will all be able to learn something from this most humble of top athletes, not just about freediving, but about life. Gary is a great example of how our experiences of depth can help us overcome any challenges we might face, anywhere.
