It's the season of giving and this year I am pledging to support our oceans– and invite you to join me. For every copy of my online Yoga for Freediving course sold between now and 31st January 2018, I will donate 20% ($10) directly to Sea Shepherd Conservation Society.
I have known about Sea Shepherd for many years, but when fellow Dahabian, and vegan chef Sheila Hanney started joining their missions, in the Faroe Islands and then the Sea of Cortez in Mexico, I really began to wake up to the absolutely vital work that these guys do. Their missions carry out the dirty frontline work that many of us would be too shocked to witness – intercepting illegal fishing boats, and hauling illegal nets out of the oceans containing the dead bodies of literally hundreds of sea creatures, from fish to turtles, up to dolphins, sharks and whales. It is back-breaking, heart-breaking, but essential work. When I think about the dedication of these selfless people, I want to cry. I am so, so honoured to play a small part in funding some of their amazing work.
