Since setting three World Records within nine months of starting my freediving training, I was repeatedly asked how I achieved this rather surprising feat. At first I didn't know, but as I started teaching others, I began to break down what exactly I had been doing that enabled this unusually fast progression. The easy answer was Kundalini Yoga. But it was not about physical strength or flexibility. I began to see that the psychological part of the jigsaw puzzle was never really taught. The blockages that over 90% of people face are to do with a complete lack of understanding of the root cause of their blocks. This leads to a paralysis over how to get themselves out of this state and moving ahead once more in their training. In contrast, whenever I dived I imagined that I was wearing an invisible backpack, or tool kit, of yogic wisdom, from which I could pull out the solution to any problem, more or less as I faced it. It seemed that no-one else had this backpack.
While I have many top freedivers to thank for their support and advice along the way, I have always been my own trainer. My yogic experience as a practitioner and teacher, my years as a personal trainer, and most importantly, my intuition were my personal coaches. I have developed this programme from my work training and coaching freedivers of all levels, and now I want you to learn how to become your own personal coach too. After all, you know yourself better than anyone else, and you have unique access to the feelings and sensations you experience during your dive - all you need to do now is to learn how to decipher your thoughts, feelings and sensations so that each dive, no matter how far off your target you may be, is a learning process, a valuable step along the path to achieving your goal.
These videos are for you - to help you retrace my steps to success and depth, to face your fears and fulfill your own potential.
I wish you joy and bliss on your exploration into yourself as you discover your own personal depths.
